Lime Garden drops new single Moving Target
The emotional rollercoaster of falling in love—with all its inevitable uncertainty and exhilarating recklessness—has found its soundtrack in the brand-new single Moving Target from the acclaimed four-piece, Lime Garden.
Ahead of their headline tour kicking off later this week, the band is offering fans a deep dive into the beautiful, messy reality of romantic highs and lows. This fresh track arrives following the release of their critically celebrated sophomore album, Maybe Not Tonight, which itself followed their debut work.
The new music explores the complex space of experiencing love even when you instinctively know it might not land. Singer Chloe Howard captures this perfectly, framing the experience not as a tragedy, but as a necessary adventure: “It’s rare to find people you are magnetically drawn to, but when you do – just dive in and brace yourself for whatever happens. Heartbreak is always worth it.”
This honest sentiment anchors the track, reflecting the band’s broader artistic philosophy. As Chloe Howard reflected on the creation of their previous album, she noted that Maybe Not Tonight was an exploration of surviving the early twenties, embracing body positivity, and measuring expectations. She concluded that the most important lesson was accepting the consequences and embracing the moment: “Enjoy the moment – what will be, will be.”
The sound of Moving Target is expertly crafted, produced alongside the celebrated artist Charlie Andrew, who is known for his work with acts like Wolf Alice and Alt-J. The track also features a distinctive visual element, accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek video collaboration with poet and spoken-word performer Antony Szmierek.
As the band prepares for their next chapter, the new single perfectly sets the stage for their upcoming journey. Lime Garden is hitting the road with their 2026 UK tour, starting in Bristol on October 2, and continuing through major cities including Oxford, Cambridge, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, and Manchester. The tour winds down with stops in Birmingham before concluding at Electric Brixton in London.
Fans can catch the magic live throughout the month, making the experience even more immersive as they follow the emotional arc of the new music into the physical world.
