Lillie Kolich earns four-chair turn on The Voice

The curtain has dropped on the blind auditions, and the real competition—the battle for the spotlight—is about to begin.

Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice delivered a flurry of activity as team leaders Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green finalized their rosters following the conclusion of the Blind Auditions.

The turns were swift and intense, with each coach vying for spots, and the fate of the remaining contestants hanging in the balance. Lillie Kolich, a 25-year-old New Mexico native who performed Sombr’s “Back to Friends,” stepped up first. Queen Latifah gave the initial nod, though the other coaches were quick to weigh in.

Lillie’s performance resonated deeply, eliciting immediate praise from the panel. Riley Green remarked that he heard a storyteller and wanted to help tell that story, noting that Kolich even hangs out in his bar. Kelly Clarkson agreed, finding the tone incredibly appealing, prompting her to suggest they sing the song together. Adam Levine offered a more complex appraisal, acknowledging the dynamic range in Kolich’s voice, admitting that having such a unique voice might make winning the competition tricky.

Queen Latifah concluded the deliberation, affirming the contestant’s potential: “If you’re able to do that, you’re able to do anything. You’re able to win this show.” In the end, Lillie made her choice, selecting the powerful presence of The Queen.

With the roster complete, producers immediately moved to the high-stakes Battle Rounds. Riley Green made an early, tough decision, pairing the Nashville baker Brandy Neelly with sisters Ferryn and Brinkley. As the contestants faced off with Miranda Lambert, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Carly Pearce served as the Battle advisor.

Despite the early pairings, the tension remained high as the contestants prepared for the intense showdowns. The Voice continues its journey in its milestone 30th season, with exciting Battle performances scheduled for Monday, October 12.
