Like Water: Amy Correa Bell’s summer art
Summer isn’t done yet, and if you’re looking for the soundtrack to those lingering, late-night moments, Amy Correa Bell has delivered a track built for pure escape: Like Water. This second seasonal release is less a song and more an invitation to lose yourself in the perfect blend of sound and atmosphere, especially when the sets get longer and nobody wants to leave the party.
The track immediately sets a mood, weaving together intricate synth lines with heavy dance percussion. Behind the scenes, the production team, Beat Ventriloquists and co-producer Les Les, worked together to add significant weight to the low end, creating a foundation that allows Correa Bell’s vocals to glide effortlessly above the mix.
The resulting soundscape feels exactly like a beach party after the sun has dipped below the horizon. Lights and sound blend seamlessly into the visual representation of waves and sand, guiding the listener on a journey—carrying them through the water and toward the promise of sunrise.
Correa Bell mirrored this fluid feeling in the visual presentation of the track. Rather than opting for a grand, complex concept, she chose a simpler, more authentic direction. She filmed the music in her hometown, seeking the real feeling that lives in her place.
“I didn’t want a big video concept for this,” she explained. “I wanted to strip it all the way down and shoot it where I’m from, because that’s where the real feeling lives. Just me, the song, and my hometown.”
The vision is simple yet powerful: an intimate portrait that captures the essence of the music rather than distracting from it. It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the most profound artistic statements come from the simplest, most honest places.
