LCD Soundsystem announces 12-night NYC residency

After a period of creative focus, the iconic sounds of LCD Soundsystem are ready to light up the city for one final, spectacular run. The electronic music juggernaut has announced a 12-night residency in New York City for the end of the year, marking a highly anticipated return to the places that defined their live legacy.

This year-end event is not just a concert series; it’s a celebration of their enduring appeal and a moment of powerful musical closure. The band is set to return to both Brooklyn Steel and the Knockdown Center, bringing their signature blend of danceable, thoughtful, and politically charged sounds to the boroughs.

The schedule promises an epic journey. The residency kicks off in November with four dates in Queens at the Knockdown Center on November 19, 20, 21, and 22. The action then moves to Brooklyn Steel on November 30, and December 1, 2, and 3. To wrap up this unforgettable run, the group will head back to the Knockdown Center for four final performances on December 10, 11, 12, and 13.

This run is particularly significant, as the November 30th performance will mark the band’s 100th NYC residency show. The atmosphere surrounding this milestone promises to be electric, especially with the band promising a selection of guests and DJs for a “100 NYC residency show blowout.”

The residency is more than just a concert series; it’s a moment reflective of the band’s ongoing creative output. While they take time to develop new material, the groundwork is clearly laid. Recently, frontman James Murphy shared that the momentum for a new album is building, highlighting the single “X-Ray Eyes,” which served as the first single from what is shaping up to be their next LP.

The creative process continues, fueled by recent releases like the standalone single “New Body Rhumba”, drawn from Noah Baumbach’s film White Noise. This focus on distilling their sound and pursuing new sonic territory is evident, even as the band balances live performances with studio work.

Beyond the residency, the group remains firmly planted in the dynamic music landscape. They have recently wrapped up a successful North American tour and are currently supporting major acts, including opening for Harry Styles on his “Together, Together” tour. This ongoing touring and collaboration keeps the band’s influence vibrant and relevant.

The 2026 residency schedule provides fans with a perfect opportunity to experience the band’s timeless sound in a unique setting, offering a definitive end to an era while setting the stage for the next chapter of LCD Soundsystem’s musical journey.
