KATSEYE reveal their chocolate alter egos and growth
If you were handed a box of chocolates, you wouldn’t know what to expect, but when KATSEYE partnered with Hershey’s, they delivered a sweet, full-circle moment that tasted just as delightful as it felt.
The group recently shared their chocolate alter egos while discussing their new collaboration with Hershey’s, their signature “Pinky Up” gesture, and the excitement surrounding the Wildworld Tour. The partnership tapped into shared nostalgia, connecting the members’ journey with the beloved treats they grew up enjoying.
The chocolate selections were a beautiful reflection of the members’ personalities. Daniela chose dark chocolate with almonds, described as “sweet, bold and energetic, with a little crunch.” Lara opted for salted caramel, adding a sweet edge, while Sophia chose strawberry creme, which is described as “sweet, warm and bright.” Megan favored cookies and creme, capturing a playful and surprising spirit, and Yoonchae selected matcha white chocolate, offering a sweet, fresh, and unexpected flavor.
This collaboration provided a wonderful opportunity to revisit childhood memories, as many members grew up enjoying Hershey’s treats during holidays and after-school snacks. For them, bringing a beloved brand into their professional lives felt genuinely personal.
The partnership also brought a beloved group gesture, the “Pinky Up” dance—which has become synonymous with KATSEYE among their fans, the EYEKONS—to a new life through the Hershey’s Creme Bar campaign. The members found the gesture resonated deeply, noting that it embodies confidence, self-expression, and choosing joy.
The group’s choice between the two new Creme Bar flavors revealed their individual tastes: Daniela, Megan, and Yoonchae leaned toward Affogato, a rich blend of espresso caramel and vanilla creme, while Lara and Sophia favored the classic and comforting salted caramel.
Beyond the sweet treats, the collaboration mirrored the group’s own evolution. The Wildworld Tour marks an important step in KATSEYE’s growth as a live act, giving fans a chance to witness how much the members have developed since their debut from Dream Academy.
This journey of growth hasn’t always been linear, as the members navigated unexpected changes, including the hiatus of fellow members Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman. The group emphasizes the importance of mutual support, acknowledging that growing as individuals and as a collective requires grace and communication.
Ultimately, the campaign and their journey reflect a core philosophy: the celebration of individuality. KATSEYE hopes their music and community can encourage fans to feel free to be themselves—whether that means being loud and confident, trying new things, or simply choosing happiness in the everyday moments.
