Kate Ryan taps Showtek for debut single Ella Elle L’a

Two decades into a career that has spanned the entire spectrum of dance music—from the formative years of hardstyle to massive global crossovers with figures like David Guetta and Major Lazer—the Dutch duo Showtek are officially embracing their operating principle: genre allegiance is optional.

This philosophy is now being formalized through the launch of FCK THE SYSTEM, a new label imprint forged in partnership with Be Yourself Music. The vision behind the imprint is clear: to create a space where all facets of dance music can coexist without boundaries.

The collaboration extends beyond mere branding; it is built on legacy. The independent Dutch entity, Be Yourself Music, has cultivated an impressive roster of talent across the entire dance spectrum, including artists like Bakermat, Headhunterz, Tinlicker, Imanbek, and Vicetone. This history makes the new label a natural and fitting home for Showtek, allowing them to pool their diverse experience in a format explicitly designed to house underground club records, major festival weaponry, and the eclectic crossover material that defines their catalog.

The label’s inaugural release immediately showcases this multi-genre approach. It features a rework of Belgian-French dance staple Kate Ryan’s enduring track, “Ella Elle L’a.” The origin story of this specific collaboration is rooted in festival energy. Showtek experienced this concept firsthand while road-testing an early edit of the flip during their set at the Fun Radio Ibiza Experience inside Paris’ Accor Arena. The audience’s enthusiastic response—singing the hook back at full volume—served as a powerful signal to transform a live edit into a formal, official collaboration.

This movement further solidifies Showtek’s ongoing connection to France and their extensive history of co-productions, including their 2025 remix of GIMS’ “Ciel” and years spent working alongside David Guetta. FCK THE SYSTEM is not just a label; it is the tangible realization of a career built on boundary-pushing creativity, offering listeners and artists a platform where genre fluidity reigns supreme.
