Haywire tour chaos new LP video and exclusive vinyl
The hardcore scene is buzzing, and at the forefront of the latest wave is Boston punks Haywire. This explosive band has just dropped the announcement for their second full-length album, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, set to hit the streets on October 2, released on their new home label, Roadrunner Records.
The creative force behind the record is impressive. The album was shaped by the vision of Citizen’s Mat Kerekes, who provided the production, while Taylor Young handled the mixing at The Pit. The recording process itself was a multi-month journey, spanning Leeds, UK, and Toledo, OH, creating a dense, visceral soundscape.
Haywire‘s sound is clearly built on community and collaboration. The album features guest appearances from members of other hardcore acts like Nothing and The Aggrolites, adding layers of intensity and shared energy to the experience.
The buzz around the music is only one layer of the story. Haywire has already established themselves as a relentless live act, completing a goal of playing all 50 states last year. Their extensive touring history includes a remarkable run with acts like Drain, No Pressure, and Secret World.
While they recently announced a short break from the road, Haywire remains deeply embedded in the live music circuit. They are gearing up for a vigorous return, with US dates scheduled in September, including a highly anticipated Milwaukee show supporting Turnstile and a run opening for Circle Jerks. The autumn months are packed with major events, from Aftershock and Furnace Fest to the Warped Tour.
The band’s momentum also involves some compelling side stories. Last weekend, during a performance at Sound & Fury, Haywire shared a celebratory moment, throwing $5,000 in cash into the crowd to mark their new record deal with Roadrunner.
The connection between the music and the community extends further, as the band recently shared a surprise split set at Sound & Fury featuring the brothers Colin and Taylor Young, alongside Twitching Tongues and God’s Hate. This cross-pollination highlights the interconnected nature of the hardcore world.
Meanwhile, Mat Kerekes’ project, Citizen, has also been making waves with their latest release, Halcyon Blues. As with Haywire, Citizen’s new LP is also available in a special vinyl variant.
