Gutting a Body of Water Mixtape KOOL FAITH / LOOSIES II Feat. RXKNephew
The buzz is officially back. Philadelphia’s prolific shoegaze outfit, TAGABOW, is gearing up for a major release, bringing their signature sound and explosive energy to a brand new mixtape titled KOOL FAITH / LOOSIES II.
Following the critical acclaim they received last year with their project LOTTO—which landed them high on several year-end lists—the band has delivered an even more ambitious body of work. This new mixtape isn’t just a collection of tracks; it’s a sprawling, densely layered experience that promises to deepen the band’s already hypnotic soundscape.
What makes this release particularly exciting is the sheer constellation of talent TAGABOW has brought into the fold. The mixtape boasts 29 tracks, but the real scoop lies in the incredibly eclectic lineup of guests and collaborators featured across the project. The roster is packed with influential figures from the music scene, including the renowned RXKNephew, Greg Mendez, Spirit Of The Beehive, Hotline TNT, Full Body 2, DJ Manny, Total Wife, and LUCY (Cooper B. Handy), among many others.
This collaborative effort signals more than just a creative endeavor; it represents a convergence of forces within the shoegaze and alternative music world. Each guest brings a distinct voice and texture, promising a sonic tapestry that is both familiar and thrillingly new. It’s a testament to TAGABOW’s ability to nurture a community of artists while pushing their own boundaries.
For fans who have followed their journey, this release serves as a potent reminder of the enduring power of shoegaze. It’s an opportunity to dive deep into a project rich with atmosphere, complexity, and the unmistakable sound of a band operating at the peak of their creative powers.
