GENESI & WELKER bring DA artists to Knockdown Center
The future of house and techno isn’t just evolving; it’s accelerating. And this momentum is about to hit a fever pitch in Queens, where two rising talents are set to collide: GENESI and WELKER. On Sunday, October 11, these producers will share a massive, extended set at Knockdown Center, putting their respective predictions for 2025 and 2026 side by side and showing exactly how fast the genre is moving.
GENESI has already carved out a formidable path, having been named an Artist to Watch for 2025. His journey began with massive hits like Everything You Have Done with MEDUZA, and he quickly amassed a portfolio of releases across major labels like Aeterna, REALM, and Tomorrowland Music, supported by titans such as Anyma, Steve Angello, and Armin van Buuren. This foundation quickly expanded, seeing him move seamlessly between melodic tension and heavier, percussive club records.
His influence is reflected in the success of his solo work, including the Freak EP with MEDUZA and his solo HyperEP, which further cemented his status as a powerhouse in the scene. Meanwhile, fellow rising star Linska demonstrated similar explosive growth, moving from a promising name to one of the most heavily supported new names in house and techno, having played major festivals and supported artists like Solomun and James Hype.
Just one year behind GENESI, WELKER is following a strikingly similar trajectory. This Brazilian-born, Los Angeles-based producer began his journey by releasing Element on Diynamic’s Four To The Floor, the same label GENESI calls home. WELKER’s rise has been fueled by collaborations with figures like Solomun, CamelPhat, Vintage Culture, and Gordo, catching the attention of tastemakers like Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.
The similarities between the two artists are striking. They have both earned the trust of the same influential circle, and their musical paths demonstrate the diverse and rapidly expanding landscape of modern dance music. When they share a stage, they offer a full-spectrum view of where house and techno are heading.
The pairing works especially well because of the format. GENESI is scheduled for an extended set, giving him the space to guide the crowd through deeper selections and unreleased tracks before pushing into harder sounds. This is the perfect environment for a journey through the evolving soundscape.
This night at Knockdown Center is more than just a party; it’s a powerful visual representation of the current state of the genre. GENESI and WELKER are not just performers; they are charting the course, proving that the next wave of house and techno is dynamic, collaborative, and relentlessly forward-moving.
GENESI w. WELKER & More takes over Knockdown Center in Queens on Sunday, October 11, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available here.
