Fred again LATIN MAFIA creating live mixtape

Electronic music star Fred again.. and the Mexican trio LATIN MAFIA are about to pull back the curtain on their creative process, inviting fans to watch a collaboration unfold live.

After two years of quietly honing their skills together, the duo has announced they will spend tomorrow, July 28th, in Mexico City creating a collaborative mixtape in real time. The livestream, titled “making a mixtape with latin mafia and staying here until we finish it,” will begin at 1 p.m. local time and continue until the project is complete, offering an intimate look at the genesis of their new work.

This exciting venture builds on a history rooted in deep musical kinship. Fred again.. describes his relationship with the LATIN MAFIA brothers as a proper family affair, noting that he makes music with his younger brother and the trio, resulting in what he calls a dynamic group of five brothers whenever they gather.

“Me and the Latin Mafia brothers have been working on music for many moons now,” Fred shared. “They are makin’ some of my favorite music in the world right now. It’s so beautiful but surprising but contained but adventurous.”

The shared journey naturally led to a unified vision, resulting in a project that felt like it was born from the same creative world. “It was mad how quickly everything we made felt like it was naturally part of the same world,” Fred noted. “So we wanna put it all out as one project,” adding that they decided to gather in Mexico City to finally finish it.
