Foo Fighters open for AC/DC in NJ rescheduled show

Rock history often bends and breaks, but sometimes, the most unforgettable moments are simply a matter of timing. For the Foo Fighters, a rare and anticipated reunion with the titans of classic rock is finally on the horizon, set for a rescheduled show in New Jersey.

The wait for this pairing has been patiently enduring. Less than a month after their previous, fleeting appearance, the Aussie rock legends are set to open for AC/DC for a second time. The initial date for the event had to be postponed due to severe weather impacting the US East Coast, but the rescheduled date has now locked in for this Friday, October 2nd.

This isn’t just another concert; it’s a culmination of a long-held aspiration. Just three and a half weeks prior, the Foo Fighters had made a surprise appearance as support for AC/DC in St. Louis. That spontaneous slot was an unexpected detour from their own touring schedule, an opportunity that quickly became a memorable highlight for both bands.

The magic of that experience seems to have sparked an enduring connection. Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters, recently described sharing the stage with AC/DC as “literally a dream come true”. He reflected that watching AC/DC’s 1980 film Let There Be Rock at age eleven had fundamentally shaped his desire to play live, and now, for the first time since that fateful night, his band is sharing the stage with the iconic group.

At the St. Louis performance, the Foo Fighters delivered a strong set of greatest hits, including classics like “All My Life“ and “The Pretender“, proving their ability to command an arena.

The enduring bond between the bands seems to transcend the stage. While the Foo Fighters continue their momentum, touring behind their recent album “Your Favorite Toy“, they have also recently joined forces with other heavyweights, including Queens Of The Stone Age, further solidifying their status as dynamic live performers.

The appeal of this pairing lies in a shared commitment to rock and a focus on genuine performance. The Foo Fighters have long been known for their laid-back rock vibe, emphasizing tunes and banter over spectacle, a style that perfectly complements the raw energy of AC/DC.

Fans who caught the initial appearance have a clear path forward. Tickets for the rescheduled New Jersey show are currently available, and existing September 25th tickets will automatically transfer to the new date. The stage is set for a truly iconic moment, and the music is about to get louder.
