Koleoso’s youthful perspective adds an extra layer of excitement to the music. He recently shared that he is just 31 years old, with a birthday just around the corner that will see him turn 32 in October. This brings a fresh, energetic pulse to the evolving sound of the Ezra Collective.
The group’s journey is rooted in compelling recordings, beginning with their 2016 debut EP, Chapter 7. Since then, the collective has continued to build a rich body of work, showcasing a consistently evolving musical vision.

Alongside Koleoso, the group is anchored by his brother TJ, and they are augmented by exceptional instrumentalists. The sonic landscape is shaped by Joe Armon-Jones on keyboards, providing the essential harmonic foundation, and the brilliant melodic contributions of trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi and saxophonist James Mollison.
Ogunjobi’s presence is particularly noteworthy, as he stepped into the role of trumpeter, succeeding Dylan Jones on 2022’s Where I’m Meant To Be. This addition has enriched the band’s ability to explore new sonic territories while maintaining their signature style.
This collaboration with talented artists extends beyond the collective itself. The musicians involved in the Ezra Collective share a lineage of musical connection, as bassist Daniel Casimir contributed to the sound of other notable releases, including Nubya Garcia’s Nubya’s 5ive and Camilla George’s Isang.
