Dream Unending announces new album Certain Uncertainties hear “Strained Sincerity”

In the often-turbulent world of extreme music, creativity knows no boundaries. The members of the Toronto death metal outfit Tomb Mold are proving that musical exploration thrives when genre lines are happily blurred, juggling heavy riffing with something far more ethereal.

Adding a layer of dreamy nostalgia to their sound is their involvement with Daydream Plus, an instrumental space-prog emo group. This creative crossover means that members of Tomb Mold are also contributing to projects that explore expansive, atmospheric sounds, recently culminating in the release of the album Second Last Day of Summer, which also saw a delightful chiptune version drop recently.

While the experimental side projects offer a lush alternative, the raw power of the music remains central. Guitarist Derrick Vella, a member of Tomb Mold, is channeling this creative energy into a new endeavor with his duo, Dream Unending. This project takes the intensity of death-doom and marries it with the polished, melodic energy of ’80s studio-rock, creating a fascinating and often strained sonic landscape.

Dream Unending’s latest offering, Certain Uncertainties, invites listeners to experience this unique blend. Tracks like “Strained Sincerity” capture the emotional weight of the duo, demonstrating how heavy, guttural sounds can coexist beautifully with the bright, almost nostalgic tones of classic rock production.
