Dolly Parton Hotel Museum Set for Nashville Opening
Two weeks after the passing of Dolly Parton, downtown Nashville is gearing up for a grand celebration, as two major destinations built around her life, music, and enduring legacy prepare to open their doors. The SongTeller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will officially debut on September 29, offering an immersive and unforgettable portrait of the country icon in the city she helped make synonymous with songwriting.
Created through a partnership between Parton and Herschend, the SongTeller Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it is a complete musical experience. Featuring 245 guest rooms and suites, the property weaves Parton’s musical world throughout its design. The hotel’s top floor is dedicated entirely to the 20,000-plus-square-foot Life of Many Colors Museum, a space created by Dolly Parton Productions that delves into her incredible journey.
The museum serves as the definitive exhibition of Parton’s life, tracing her path from her childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains to achieving global superstardom. Visitors will explore personal artifacts, multimedia installations, and interactive exhibits, all guided by footage filmed with Parton herself, allowing guests to experience her story in her own voice. The curation of this comprehensive exhibition is led by her sister Rachel Parton George and niece Rebecca Seaver.
The hotel experience is anchored in music. Upstairs, Jolene’s venue hosts nightly performances featuring emerging Nashville singers and songwriters alongside cocktails and small plates. Meanwhile, Parton’s Live area on the second floor focuses directly on the city’s vibrant songwriting culture, presenting writers’ rounds, songwriter sessions, and showcases.
The entertainment programming kicks off before the official opening, with reservations opening on September 14. The venue is already buzzing with performances, including appearances by family and collaborators like Richie Owens and Jada Star. Furthermore, the hotel is partnering with FEMcountry, the platform founded by veteran music executive Leslie Fram, for monthly events spotlighting established female artists and songwriters.
The SongTeller Hotel stands as a continuation of the long-standing relationship between Parton and Herschend, a partnership that has also produced other beloved properties like Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa and HeartSong Lodge & Resort.
