Dive into Taylor Swift’s new ‘Patient Zero’ and Encore tracks

Taylor Swift is continuing to craft her narrative, expanding her musical world with a fresh wave of deeply personal and glossy tracks. The expanded edition of her 2025 album arrived recently, offering fans a deeper dive into the emotional landscapes that define her career.

The new addition includes four compelling songs: Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding, and Babylon. These tracks were born from a creative trip to Sweden, where Swift collaborated with her established producers, Max Martin and Shellback, seeking space to reflect and create.

Leading the new collection is the single Patient Zero, a glossy pop track built around electronic percussion and sweeping strings. It uses the concept of infection as a potent metaphor for destructive relationships. In the song, Swift positions herself as the patient zero, warning another woman about the “devil” lurking beneath an ex-partner’s charm before declaring her own survival: “If you’re sick of him, I got you.”

The vision for this single was brought to life in a visually stunning music video starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, which premiered at the MTV VMAs. Swift directed the video herself, with the breathtaking cinematography handled by Oscar-winning photographer Emmanuel Lubezki.

The album’s expansion offers a diverse range of emotional textures. Cleveland! injects a burst of energy, driven by live drums and ’80s-style keyboards, playfully addressing public criticism while celebrating her relationship with Travis Kelce. Pink Clouding offers a more reflective slice of shimmering synth-pop, exploring the euphoric yet unsettled state of emotional recovery. Finally, Babylon provides an atmospheric close, detailing the painful journey of chasing status and freedom only to find a deep longing for the life and family left behind.

Swift expressed immense gratitude for this creative time, stating that the songs were born out of a shared desire to celebrate the exuberance of the album. This new body of work follows her previous success, including the original album The Life Of A Showgirl, which achieved record-breaking sales and garnered significant critical acclaim.
