He is forced to navigate a dangerous world alongside the notorious hitman Greg Scarpa, played by Mark Wahlberg.
Warren, who has amassed 17 Oscar nominations for Best Original Song—more than any other woman—found her inspiration in pairing historical significance with contemporary sound. She sought to capture the spirit of the film by bringing together iconic artists from different eras. “Having the legendary Isley Brothers come on board was a dream come true,” Warren shared. “They are so authentic to this story, and the combination of them with a young singer like David Kushner is pure magic.”

Ronald Isley, one of the vocalists, noted that the story is personal, reflecting the struggle and courage of the Civil Rights era.
