DD Island shares new single Setting Sun
In the vibrant, creative landscape of Brooklyn, a compelling indie rock sound is taking shape: DD Island. What began as an intimate personal recording experiment has blossomed into a full-fledged musical entity, driven by infectious melodies and raw energy.
The foundation of the group rests with singer/songwriter and producer Brandon Rhodes. His initial vision for the project was purely personal, laying the groundwork for a unique sonic identity that would eventually draw a wider audience.
As the project grew in scope, so did the sound. DD Island expanded significantly with the arrival of an exceptional lineup of musicians who brought new textures and dynamics to the songwriting process. The core extended to include bassist Andrew Stader, guitarist Jeremy Batt, and drummer Zach Litchman, creating a collective that could deliver sophisticated indie rock.
This expanded family of talent solidified their debut in 2023, marking a significant milestone for fans eager to hear their music. They launched with the EP Flowers, an introduction that immediately set a high bar for their creative vision.
Following this successful launch, DD Island continued their momentum, releasing another compelling body of work in the subsequent year with their second EP, Runnin’. These releases showcase the evolution of the band, demonstrating a clear trajectory from personal project to collaborative, full-band artistry.
