Dan Mangan delays BC shows due to illness
When a musician is on the road, a performance is the ultimate goal. But sometimes, life throws a curveball, forcing a sudden and unexpected pause. That’s exactly what happened to troubadour Dan Mangan recently, as he had to postpone two upcoming performances, opting instead for a much-needed recovery.
Mangan shared the news on social media, explaining that he was still battling an illness that required him to hit the pause button on his schedule. While the timing was certainly frustrating for the fans waiting for the music, Mangan managed to use the downtime productively, diving into classic gaming to keep his mind sharp. He even managed to beat Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Super Nintendo, turning a difficult delay into a moment of digital triumph.
The postponements meant that the planned shows on Bowen Island and Salt Spring Island had to be rescheduled. The Bowen Island performance, originally slated for today, has been pushed back to October 16. Similarly, the Salt Spring Island show for tomorrow has been delayed until November 4.
Despite the temporary setback, Mangan remains committed to his musical journey. He is already gearing up for his return to the stage, with a new stop scheduled for October 1 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This demonstrates his resolve to keep the momentum going, even when health dictates a temporary slowdown.
Fans can look forward to the rest of the 2026–2027 tour schedule as Mangan continues his journey. The extended dates include a string of performances across Canada and beyond, including stops in Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Montreal, and Quebec City, alongside dates in Kingston and London.
The upcoming schedule is packed with opportunities, showcasing Mangan’s talent across the country. As he recovers, the anticipation builds for his next live experiences, proving that even a temporary detour can lead to an exciting re-entry onto the stage.
