CMAT stars in SNL UK George Fouracres sketch

The stage lights were bright, the laughter was loud, and the cultural landscape was delightfully bizarre as SNL UK returned for its second season on Saturday, September 12th.

The show kicked off with a stellar lineup, featuring the iconic Jeff Goldblum as host, setting an immediate tone of sophisticated absurdity. But the real entertainment, it turned out, was a bit more eclectic than just a classic sketch comedy show.

Bringing a unique flavor to the proceedings was CMAT, who stepped in as the musical guest. She delivered a performance that was as catchy as it was unexpected, performing “Stay For Something” alongside the title track from her album Euro-Country, a record released in August 2025.

CMAT’s presence extended beyond the music; she also contributed to the show’s recurring sketch comedy, appearing in “45 More Seconds With Fouracres.” This sketch perfectly encapsulated the show’s delightfully strange spirit, featuring characters locked in a fierce lightsaber battle over a surprisingly contentious snack: black pudding.

Adding another layer of unexpected charm, Tina Fey, who previously hosted the inaugural episode of the first season, also made an appearance. Fey joined the fun in a pre-taped sketch that plunged the audience into an immersive and heartwarming experience centered around the beloved character of Paddington.

The combination of celebrity performances, musical talents, and utterly surreal sketch comedy ensured that the return of SNL UK was a vibrant and unforgettable event, proving that sometimes the best comedy is found in the strangest combinations.
