Christian Nodal’s song hits 1 Billion YouTube views
Christian Nodal is once again demonstrating the power of connection and melody, with his hit song No Te Contaron Mal achieving major milestones on YouTube.
The official music video for the track has officially entered YouTube’s Billion Views Club, marking it as the second major video to reach this monumental milestone. This achievement follows the success of the video for “Adiós Amor” in 2020, underscoring the enduring appeal of Nodal’s music across generations.
“No Te Contaron Mal” is a testament to the collaborative spirit behind Nodal’s sophomore album, Ahora, released in 2019. The track was penned by the talented producer and songwriter Edgar Barrera, whose creative partnership with Nodal has resulted in some of the region’s most celebrated hits.
The song’s success extended far beyond online views. It dominated the charts, spending 38 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart. This remarkable performance was further recognized with significant accolades, including a Latin Grammy win and recognition as the regional Mexican song of the year at the BMI Latin Awards.
The origins of the song itself are a charming example of how great art can spring from a moment of pure, unfiltered connection. Edgar Barrera and Christian Nodal met shortly after the release of “Adiós Amor,” and in a moment of spontaneous creativity, they began writing the track. The story goes that they met in a remote area in Jalpa, Mexico—a place with no internet or cell service—where, in just thirty minutes, the song about infidelity was born, captured instantly through Nodal’s personal narrative.
Nodal continues to expand his artistic vision with his latest studio album, Bandera Blanca, which dropped in May of this year. This collection showcases his evolution while continuing to honor the deep musical roots that define his sound. He remains committed to his fans, further solidifying his presence through projects like the Pa’l Cora Tour 2026.
