Carín León apologizes for missing Sphere show
The glamour of a massive Las Vegas residency often involves flawless logistics, but for singer Carín León, the planned spectacle at the Sphere hit an unexpected snag. Just as fans were ready for an unforgettable night, unforeseen “aircraft malfunctions” forced a dramatic postponement of the show, turning a high-octane event into a story of travel chaos and heartfelt apology.
The situation unfolded when León informed his devoted audience via an Instagram Story that due to an unexpected mishap during his move, he unfortunately had to reschedule tonight’s performance at the Sphere. The disappointment was palpable, as fans were reportedly in their seats awaiting the start of the show when the news broke over the arena’s sound system.
León immediately stepped up to address his disappointed supporters, assuring them that their tickets remained valid for a new date: September 15, 2027. He extended a sincere apology for the inconvenience, emphasizing his deep appreciation for the excitement and affection the fans consistently showed him.
The reason behind the sudden change was as dramatic as the event itself. In an accompanying video, León explained the predicament, detailing that he and his band were unable to make it to the venue due to serious travel difficulties. He recounted attempting to board two different planes on Thursday afternoon, both of which experienced issues that prevented takeoff, including critical problems such as a brake failure and steering issues.
“We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren’t allowed to fly,” León stated in the video. He further clarified that the refusal to fly was mandated by authorities, not a lack of commitment, adding that he felt deeply embarrassed by the unforeseen circumstances.
The venue, the Sphere, also acknowledged the change, posting a statement confirming that tonight’s Carín show was postponed due to an unexpected transportation issue.
León, who became the first Latin artist to book a residency at the Sphere, is already charting an ambitious course. He was planning a full seven-show run, and the rescheduled dates are set for September 16, 17, and 18 of next year, coinciding with Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations.
This residency is part of an exciting trajectory for the artist, who previously shared the stage at the Sphere with country singer Cody Johnson and the Mexican rock band The Warning during his initial sold-out performance on September 4.
