BMI launches free healthcare navigation for songwriters

Through a partnership with insurance brokerage Gallagher Alternative Health Solutions, the service allows users to compare a wide array of options, including Affordable Care Act marketplace plans, private off-exchange coverage, Medicare, and supplemental options like dental and vision insurance.
BMI Health Connect is crucial because it focuses on personalized assistance. Advisors don’t just present options; they review critical details—such as household size, budget, income, current coverage, and life stage—before assisting with the enrollment process. The guidance itself is completely free of charge.
It is important to understand that BMI Health Connect is not an insurance plan, and the organization does not subsidize premiums or out-of-pocket costs. Instead, the service acts as a free navigation tool, empowering individuals to understand the available choices.
While the core guidance is free, there is a potential financial arrangement: BMI and Gallagher may receive a commission from an insurance carrier when an affiliate enrolls. Crucially, this commission does not increase the participant’s premium.

This service is currently available, allowing users to review options ahead of major enrollment periods. For instance, Medicare open enrollment runs from October 15 through December 7, and Federal ACA marketplace enrollment begins November 1, with the deadline for coverage starting January 1.
