BMG seals global publishing deal for Australian talent
Parcels Seals Global Deal with BMG, Amplifying Their International Sound
The globally celebrated Australian electronic-leaning indie-pop band Parcels have officially joined BMG’s music publishing roster, securing a significant deal that will propel their distinctive sound onto even broader international stages. This landmark agreement was formalized in Berlin, reflecting the band’s deep roots in Europe while embracing their truly global ambitions.
Formed in 2014 in Byron Bay, the picturesque Australian beach spot, the five-piece has spent years cultivating a unique creative history. They made the strategic move to relocate to Germany in the mid-2010s, where they successfully built both a dedicated audience and a compelling musical identity, setting the stage for their inevitable international ascent.
Parcels’ trajectory has been marked by significant global impact. Their sound resonated far beyond Australia, notably through collaborations like co-producing Daft Punk’s 2017 single “Overnight”, which opened doors to massive festival slots at events like Coachella and Glastonbury. Their accumulated success is staggering, with more than 1.5 billion total career streams across their studio albums and live performances.
This new partnership with BMG is a natural fit for a band defined by its unique creative vision. Jasper Niebuhr, managing director at BMG Germany / Switzerland / Austria, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, noting that Parcels are “one of the most distinctive and compelling bands of their generation.” Niebuhr highlighted the band’s extraordinary musicianship and songwriting, which allowed them to build a truly global career on their own terms.
The agreement underscores the band’s international spirit, bridging their Australian roots, their creative history in Berlin, and their strong presence in the United States. Niebuhr expressed excitement about bringing the strength of BMG’s global network to Parcels’ next chapter, sharing their ambition to continue pushing creative boundaries.
The band has recently continued to deliver fresh material. In 2025, they released their third studio album, LOVED, supported by a world tour that included historic U.S. arena headline dates. While preparing for future releases, members like Anatole Serret and Jules Crommelin were also engaged in separate projects, including the release of Dream Boat, which featured the debut single “Real!”, alongside Louie Swain’s solo album Ok ok now.
The excitement surrounding the BMG announcement was palpable among the band members. Parcels manager Birger Luedemann shared their enthusiasm, noting that the entire BMG team demonstrated a shared understanding of the band’s vision and a collective ambition to build something special together. They are looking forward to bringing amazing projects to life as they continue their remarkable journey.
