Twenty years after launching herself as a force determined to command every facet of her artistry, Beyoncé is celebrating a monumental milestone with a special 20th-anniversary edition of her landmark album, B’DAY. This remastered collection, released recently, brings back newly restored visuals, exclusive photography, and incredible new details that illuminate the making of the iconic work.
The celebration kicked off with a bold statement on July 4th when fans were treated to “MORNING DEW (DONK),” an electrifying new track that signaled the anniversary festivities. Crafted with collaborators including Pharrell Williams, the-Dream, and Darius Dixon, and produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell, the song expertly blends R&B, hip-hop, and Southern bounce, offering a tantalizing peek into the vault of her creative history. Adding to the celebratory mood, a JAY-Z remix followed shortly after, further celebrating the Carters’ dynamic creative legacy.

The celebration also embraces global musical influences, introducing a vibrant Spanish-language component. The track “Cuerpo Tumbao (Get Me Bodied)” features Colombian superstar Maluma and samples Celia Cruz’s iconic “La Negra Tiene Tumbao,” connecting Beyoncé’s theme of self-possession with the uncompromising celebration of Black identity in Latin music.
Perhaps one of the most emotionally resonant additions is the inclusion of “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor),” which features the legendary Selena. This inclusion, granted by the late star’s estate, carries a distinct Texas resonance, linking two women whose careers spanned cultural boundaries. Beyoncé grew up listening to Selena on the radio in Houston and credits her with inspiring this heartfelt musical pairing.
