Beverly Glenn-Copeland announces ‘Keyboard Fantasies’ 40th Anniversary Reissue
Forty years after the initial notes were struck, the enduring sound of Canadian singer-songwriter Beverly Glenn-Copeland is back in full force. The beloved 1986 album, Keyboard Fantasies, is being celebrated with a major 40th-anniversary reissue, set to arrive on November 27th via Transgressive Records.
This milestone celebration isn’t just about nostalgia; it’s a reflection on the journey that shaped the music. When reflecting on the time of creation, Glenn-Copeland recalls drawing deep inspiration from the natural world—the woods and lakes of Northern Ontario—which provided the backdrop for the sounds that would become Keyboard Fantasies.
Adding another layer to the retrospective, the anniversary was previewed with the track “Light of the Heavens”, which will accompany the reissue as a special 7-inch single. The track serves as a beautiful introduction to the legacy of the album.
Glenn-Copeland shared that the period surrounding the creation of the album was marked by excitement, embracing the new sounds and tools afforded by emerging technology. Today, it is a time to appreciate the profound impact that the work has had over the last four decades, a gratitude extended to the listeners who have supported their work and that of his wife, Elizabeth.
The success of their collaboration continues to shine, evidenced by the fact that Glenn-Copeland and Elizabeth were recently shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for their record Laughter in the Summer.
As the celebration continues, attention is now turning toward the future. Glenn-Copeland and Elizabeth have lined up a handful of Canadian dates in 2027, inviting fans to experience the music live.
