Now, that vibrant history is being brought home to its origins with the arrival of Bastian Bux and his project, Petit Comité of House. On July 17th, the Barcelona-born selector is making a historic New York debut at H0L0 Yard in Ridgewood, marking the first time the highly anticipated party series has touched the concrete jungle.
Petit Comité is more than just a collection of nights; it’s a philosophical response to the scene. Bux founded the project as a reaction against what he felt was a drift away from house music’s core essence. The philosophy behind Petit Comité is beautifully simple: create music that compels movement, foster an atmosphere where you want to stay, and build deep connections rather than chasing fleeting spectacle.
This commitment to genuine connection has already made the project a global phenomenon. It has successfully expanded its vision across Barcelona, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Miami, and Colombia, hosting fourteen events across five cities and bringing more than nine thousand attendees to date in 2025 alone.
The momentum quickly translated into a record label in 2025, which exploded onto the scene. The label has released four seminal records, all of which have landed firmly in the Beatport Top 10, with some singles holding their spot for over a hundred days. Tracks like “Good Things” became a summer anthem during elrow at UNVRS, while EPs such as Life in Circles and Only U defined the soulful yet straight-to-the-point sound of the project.
For Bux, bringing Petit Comité to New York carries a profound sense of arrival. “The US, and New York in particular, played a huge role in shaping house music as we know it,” he reflects. “So much of what we love about this culture was born there. Petit Comité exists because we fell in love with those original values: positivity, freedom, connection, and music that brings people together. Bringing the project to New York feels like coming full circle.”
The debut night promises the complete “Petit Comité experience.” Attendees can expect a seamless blend of classic and cutting-edge house, paired with a visually stunning world, anchored by some of the most exciting names in the US house music scene. The aesthetic is as important as the audio; expect floral arrangements decorating the dancefloor, all woven together by a distinctive magnolia fragrance that permeates the event.
The vision behind this experience was championed by Gray Area, whose founder Michael Julian believes in helping exceptional artists bring their unique visions to new territories while remaining true to their communities. “We love partnering with visionaries who are creating something meaningful,” Julian noted, emphasizing how Bastian Bux and Petit Comité embody that spirit.
The lineup is packed with talent that perfectly mirrors the project’s soulful ethos. Joining Bux is Chicago’s rising star Monty Kiddo, whose sound expertly pulls from disco, funk, French touches, UKG, and classic house. Rounding out the bill is New York-based talent Andrew Nak, bringing a crucial hometown sensibility to the evening.
