Avalanches return to NYC after 9 years
The dance music collagists The Avalanches are back, and they aren’t just bringing back nostalgia—they are dropping new sonic textures wrapped in a visual style that practically screams advertising campaign. After wiping the slate clean on social media earlier this year, the duo have unveiled two fresh singles that prove their knack for evocative sound design and striking visuals.
The latest releases include “Together,” featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, and Prentis, and “Every Single Weekend,” featuring Jamie XX. Both tracks are paired with artwork that masterfully plays off branding and advertising aesthetics, further cementing their reputation as masters of hypnotic sound collaging.
This fresh wave of material is set to launch a highly anticipated tour, kicking off with an electrifying appearance in New York City. The Avalanches will take their first NYC stage since 2017 on October 22 at Terminal 5, where they will be joined by Erick the Architect and a stellar DJ set from Jessy Lanza. Fans will need to mark their calendars, as tickets go on sale Friday, July 24 at 10 AM local time.
While this New York date marks the North American premiere, the global itinerary is packed with opportunities for the faithful. The Avalanches are already scheduled for a substantial run across the UK and Europe throughout the summer and fall, offering diverse live experiences from August through November 2026.
