Apple Corps announces huge immersive Beatles fan experience in Liverpool
A Spectacular Journey: The Beatles Story Reimagined for a New Era
The enduring magic of The Beatles is set to be reborn in a truly epic fashion, with Apple Corps and Universal Music Group announcing plans for a spectacular new home for The Beatles Story.
This ambitious project promises an immersive experience for fans worldwide, tracing the extraordinary journey of the Fab Four through the world that shaped them. Set to unfold in 2028, the attraction will move from its current location in Liverpool’s Albert Dock to a massive new site, spanning 100,000 square feet in the heart of the city.
The new venue will feature cutting-edge immersive technology, original artifacts, and spectacular reconstructed sets designed to bring the band’s story to life in a way never before seen. Visitors will embark on a journey of several hours, moving from the streets of post-war Liverpool and the formative years in Hamburg, through the explosion of Beatlemania, and finally to their international fame.
The route will stop at iconic landmarks from the band’s history, including The Cavern, Abbey Road, Shea Stadium, and many more. Some of these celebrated locations will be recreated using sets and props from Sam Mendes’ upcoming cinematic event, The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, set for April 2028.
The transformation of this experience is being met with profound excitement from the band members themselves. Paul McCartney shared how incredible and humbling it is that people remain so interested in their story, noting how the plans take him right back to his journey from Liverpool to the world and back home.
Ringo Starr echoed this sentiment, reflecting on how deeply Liverpool remains central to his identity and expressing pride that the project will help regenerate the city centre. He emphasized that the proceeds from every ticket sold will go back to support new Liverpool artists, reinforcing the local connection to the global legacy.
Beyond the spectacle, this project is viewed as a powerful force for community growth. Mayor Steve Rotheram noted that the funds raised from this “pilgrimage” will contribute directly to the local grassroots, ensuring that the legacy of the band supports the next generation of Liverpool artists.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham praised the initiative, seeing it as an example of the ambition needed across Britain—backing what great cities do best and turning that global reputation into jobs, opportunity, and growth. He stressed that the project helps open doors for young artists everywhere, proving that there is a route from local talent to the world stage.
As the surviving Beatles continue their creative work, the momentum is palpable. This latest development underscores how deeply woven the story of The Beatles remains in the fabric of Liverpool and how powerful shared history can be in inspiring future success.
