Anna McClellan announces new EP South Of Dodge hear “Drank Earlier”

From the heartland of Omaha, where the city’s geography mirrors the complexity of its music, comes Anna McClellan, a DIY indie rocker whose sound is as distinctive as the streets she calls home. McClellan has been weaving compelling narratives through her work, mixing local grit with a distinctly indie sensibility that resonates across the country.

Earlier this year, McClellan shared a piece of her evolving sound with audiences by releasing her track Space, you big cloud on the Father/Daughter platform. This release was just one stop on her ongoing journey of musical exploration, showcasing her unique voice.

Adding another layer to her artistic tapestry, McClellan recently lent her talents as backup vocalist to the work of acclaimed musician Greg Freeman. Her involvement on his new album, All Set The Bone, further cemented her place within the vibrant landscape of independent music.

As McClellan continues to evolve, she is gearing up for a significant new release. Next month, she is set to debut her first EP on her own newly established label, Exploding In Sound. This upcoming project is titled South Of Dodge.

The title itself is a subtle nod to her roots, referencing the very street that divides Omaha in half, grounding her sound in the specific, tangible reality of her hometown. It is a powerful geographic anchor for the music she is creating.

The anticipation for South Of Dodge is already building buzz. A post announcing the new EP, along with a compelling track like “Drank Earlier,” found its initial platform on Stereogum, signaling that McClellan’s story and sound are ready for wider attention.
