But the creative momentum didn’t stop there; Andy White has already channeled that energy into something new, hinting at a darker, more introspective musical landscape with his latest release.
This new project is titled Doomed, and it promises to be a deeply resonant exploration of sound. The raw, intimate quality of the music suggests a journey far removed from the previous work, inviting listeners into a space of profound feeling.
The process of creating Doomed was as unique as the music itself. Instead of working in a traditional studio, Andy White embraced an unconventional approach, utilizing vintage equipment to capture the essence of his vision. He tracked the new album using a classic Tascam 688 cassette recorder, turning the act of recording into a tactile, nostalgic experience.
To capture the atmospheric sounds required for this project, White sought out two distinct and evocative settings for his sessions. One location offered a vibrant contrast to the introspection of the music: the New York Center for Creativity and Dance in Manhattan’s East Village. The other setting provided a quieter, more secluded environment: the Amelia Street House, nestled in the Orlando neighborhood of Lake Eola Heights.
By blending the urban energy of Manhattan with the serene atmosphere of Orlando, White created a unique sonic tapestry. These two disparate locations served as fertile ground, allowing the disparate sounds of the recording to merge, resulting in the distinctive character of Doomed.
The anticipation for this new work was palpable, and the initial buzz quickly took hold across music platforms.
