Amyl and the Sniffers headline Golden Hour at Bondi Beach

Get ready for a seismic shift in Australian music. The Grammy-nominated punk outfit Amyl and the Sniffers is gearing up for what is being hailed as their biggest Australian show yet, culminating in a spectacular homecoming run set to rock the coastlines of Australia.

The main event is set for the 2027 Golden Hour series at Bondi Beach, where the band will headline a series that has brought major live music back to the beach in more than a decade. This massive event signals the group’s ascent as one of Australia’s most prominent rock exports of the past decade.

The celebratory tour is more than just a concert series; it’s a journey that spans the nation. The Golden Hour run includes dates across Sydney, Brisbane’s On the Banks, Fremantle’s Palace Foreshore, and St Kilda’s Palace Foreshore, creating an unforgettable tapestry of live music across the country.

Adding extra sparkle to this itinerary, the Bondi performance will feature special guests including the rapper BARKAA, Malyangapa, and the Western Sydney post-punk outfit Xiao Xiao, ensuring the event is a multi-faceted celebration of diverse musical talents.

This incredible homecoming follows a breakout international stretch for the group. Their 2024 third album, Cartoon Darkness, produced by Nick Launay, exploded onto the scene, debuting at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and making their first appearance on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 196.

The album’s success was matched by critical acclaim. Cartoon Darkness secured the band’s first Grammy nomination, with the single “U Should Not Be Doing That” being nominated for best rock performance at the 2026 ceremony. The band also earned a BRIT Award nomination and enjoyed performances at major festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella.

The momentum continued at the 2025 ARIA Awards, where the group swept four major prizes, including Album of the Year, Best Group, and Best Rock Album, cementing their status as rock royalty.

Since their debut in 2019, fronted by vocalist Amy Taylor, Amyl and the Sniffers have established themselves as powerful voices in the rock landscape. Their initial self-titled album already earned an ARIA Award for best rock album, setting a high bar for their continued success.

As the band continues to explore creative boundaries, they are now teasing an unexpected next move: a film documenting country-music reworkings of their own songs, hinting at a rich and evolving artistic future.
